Kenne Bell arrives Monday!

where in virginia are you headed to?

Chesapeake to see my gf's family. Stay there for maybe 4 days then heading out on the road to wherever I end up. Converted my 2000 Mountaineer into a stealth camper, just pull over to the side of road and climb in back. Saves on hotels! Last years big trip was NY to Yellowstone total of 6000 miles in 13 days but would do it again in a heartbeat!

I really should take pics of the Mountaineer. Everyone laughs when I say I converted truck into 2 seat camper... that is until they see it.

My first car was a Ford Aerostar van and I removed the rear seat and installed a matress back there... that thing was money :D

So easy to do as well.

Got fridge, thermal lined food storage, stove, screened in rear windows and moon roof, 1000w inverter, foam matress, tool box, totes for clothing, canoe and motor, laptop with wifi, all curtained in and nobody knows youre there. Looking to install a shower setup this week so at least I can wash down a little as 13 days on road without a shower can get just a little ugly.

dont bother with platinum plugs. i used the ngk tr6 copper plugs gapped at .32 and they were fine. when i changed them after the first season, i replaced with platinum. they didnt last any longer than the copper plugs imho. another thing, for whatever reason, the kennebell manual tells you to change the plugs AFTER the blower is installed. do yourself a favor and replace them when you have your stock manifold out of the way and tape over the ports. use a tiny bit of anti-seize and a torque wrench on the plugs. another thing, the directions kinda suck for the boost-a-pump, make sure to take your time. also, i had bad luck with the gates green stripe belt that came with the kit. it squeeked quite a bit. i have been running a gatorback belt and its better imo. it sounds cool too... there are 3 plugs on the manifold for vacuum / boost guages. i put the boost-a-pump switch in one, the boost gauge in one, and the third come with a pre-barbed fitting for the bypass valve. i would suggest installing the boost-a-pump switch prior to installing the blower, and make sure you use teflon tape. if you are planning on running a fuel pressure gauge, make sure you get a fuel rail adapter that sandwiches between the fuel pressure sensor, unless you have a shraeder valve on the rail. that one held me up for about a week to find the part. trickflow makes one. have fun with it, it takes some time but its WELL WORTH IT. it will feel like a completely different car when your done. :D another thing, take your time when you are messing with that #(#*ing bolt behind the driver side head.... you will know what im talking about when you get there. I think i may have cross threaded mine in there after about an hour of cussing and busting my knuckles apart.:notnice:

Thanks for all these tips, sure will make a difference.

Ordered the TR6's today along with some Royal purple as I am going to change out the tranny fluid. Probably should do it.
Thinking I am shortly going to have to change steering rack too. Hit a spare wheel that had fallen of someones car last year as I was gunning it down an on ramp. Was late at night and I thought it was a patch of repaired blacktop. Hit it at around 60mph. Too late to slow down so I centered it on the car. Car boomed and I was sure the car was toast. Bent one of the bolts holding steering rack upwards about 1/2" (maybe 30 degrees or so) and crushed one of the metal lines at front of rack. New tires and alignment didnt stop the minor shake above 50mph and I get low groan and slight jerking at very low speed turns. I got lucky! Exhaust hangs probably 2" above ground (I know because it collects squirrels and toasts them for me).

More money! But its still ok for right now. Going to be taking it easy this year. New clutch and the supercharger.... will be taking it easy until I am confident its all as it should be.

Again, thanks for all the advice, it really is appreciated. Will be looking over this thread come install time. Bad thing is that it is currently in a warehouse less than an hour drive away and I have to wait till monday for delivery!!!:(
