I get something similar to what's being described...but it's not consistent. When it happens, I consider it "driver error"...almost like I'm lazy on the clutch, and too fast on the gas. Sounds like a quick "pop" that I drive right through.

I had to upgrade my stock fuel pump when we tuned my kit (6psi non-cooled) because when you tried to optimize the A/F...she bucked under boost. So we put in an SVT focus pump....oddly flows twice as much as the GT. Totally fixed the problem.

The tuner (Paul Meister at Steeda.ca) is still skeptical on the fuel set up...so we're probably going with with the Cobra tank with dual pumps (I hear there's a sweet aluminum tank available too)..and Paul will probably urge me to go with 42lb injectors. Bigger injectors may sound like overkill on a 6psi set up...but at least it will ensure that the injectors can over-accommodate if neccessary. This will take place next season.

Oddly...I've heard that replacing the fuel filter can be quite helpful...a fairly cheap part...but it does make sense! If the fuel filter is not clean...it could be the weak link too.

My 3 cents (aka 2 cents CDN)

I actually had this problem with my original Saleen blower once I put a smaller pulley on it. I had the BAP back then but no one could ever really tell me what it was Just seems to be worse now with the KB.

I think it has something to do with aftermarket pumps. Guys with the stock pump and a BAP do not seem to have the problem.

No clue. I've been dealing with this problem for years. Even with my old Saleen super charger. I've had one guy tell me that it might have something to do with the GT computer not being able to adjust so quickly to boost fuel pressure needs or something like that? Hecks if I know. I sure wish someone could figure it out though

sounds like a problem the guys at KB should find a solution to. I would go nuts if my car didn't go as soon as I hit the gas.

Raining on my parade

This is the first I'm hearing about hesitation problems from a KB. I was all set to go for a 6lb KB next spring but now . Does this problem only affect you guys running 9+ lbs of boost? Doubtful that I'll ever run more than 6lb for my street car.

Great numbers...
Similar setup.. Stage 2 port Comp cams. 14# pulley.
Dyno KB 14#

What pulley do you have on. 14# or 17#.
I had on the 14# for now (11psi showing).
What boost are you actually recording.
Set my air/fuel to 11.5:1).

Had a similar problem. When I would shift fast there would be a hesitation a. Sometimes a pop...

Turns out the setting for tip-in (Initial slam) was retarding too much spark. Once we adjusted them problem went away....

Tip-in is a table used to retard spark at initial request for gas. Not sure if this is WOT or at anytime. Timing can get reduced so much it becomes a hesitation or sometimes a misfire.
I believe it also is load specific (setting for load values). Some of the settings reduced the timing as much as 8 degrees. I currently have mine set at 0 for all loads...
