Kenne Bell have their 5psi non i/c and 8psi ic blowers out with claims of 401rwhp and 445rwhp respectively. I have read in these forums that KB are a bit "enthusiastic" in their rwhp claims. Does anyone one have an idea if this is true and if so what would "real" numbers look like (ie subtract 10%)?

This forum is an excellent information source, thanks to all of you!

Just look at the thread above this one..He's making 435 at the wheels with 8lbs of boost..a saleen sc..Ken Belle has a great name and product,I wouldnt doupt them for a second with there claims!!!

I would check their fine print to see what other mods were done and at what conditions it was tested under. I know that for the 04 stangs and older, KB's claims were high. The reason it was high is b/c KB tested the car with race gas and a lot of timing. I am not doubting KB, but make sure that you understand that the numbers KB has might not reflect your car. If you run on 91-93 Octane and with a safe tune, than you will probably not see the numbers that KB has posted. This doesn't make KB liers, all companies post their best numbers to show the potential. That is just a part of sales.

That's good news..

If the K/B numbers are a little high due to the reasons you listed that is actually (from my perspective) a "good" thing. I have concerns about the strain the 445rwhp KBclaims would place on stock internals, if the "real world" numbers are lower (420-430) I will still have an excellent performer with a little less fear that some part of the rotating assembly going to fly off.

Does this make any sense as an idea?

Cheers!

430\445  not much of a difference!! I dont know too much about the new 3 valve engines, but I really doupt there will be a problem with the rotating essembly!! I kind of like the idea of no inter cooler with the 5lbs kit!!
