kenne bell on daily driver

what do you guys think of a kenne bell on a daily driver or would a centrifugal be better? want to get atleast 100,000 on the motor and it only has 5,000 right now

With the right tune the KB will be alright. Check out Modular Powerhouse, alot of people there are running KB's.

Stock short block? KB is what you want to stay away from on a stock motor. They go pretty fast since the boost comes in at WOT at only around 2200RPMs. The centri will only make 8#s @ about 6K. The KB makes 9#s from 2200- whenever you shift LOL. IMO with the centri would keep the RPMs at or blow 5500 to get the most life....and you will still have a very quick car.

I just put on the KB. It is not a DD, but the boost is only there when you put your foot in it.

I am 100% sure that I could put a KB on my girlfriends stang, and she would never notice.

I guess what I'm saying is, that the blower will not shorten engine life, driving it hard will. The down side is, that driving it easy with a S.L. of power under your foot is not easy.

I would vote for the KB because you can get the advantages of the extra power without having to run the RPMs up so high.

The KB is great for a daily driver. You are not in boost unless you want to be. Would you rather be in high rpm's for fun or would you rather have a little more fun down low? I've never driven a centri's car, but I'm sure it would be fine too, just depends on your driving habits.

Great on a daily driver. Drives completly like stock unless you are "in" it. It does not just "come on" at 2200. If you ease into it, you can go all the way to redline and the boost never kicks in. It is there when you want it, and not when you don't. Don't pay any attention to those who say otherwise, they obviously do not have one.

The most common misperception of the KB...

And this usually comes from ppl who has NEVER driven a KB stang before. I don't know what kind of stang you're talking about but mine is NOTHING like the one you're explaining. The KB will NOT go into boost whenever you shift. During "normal" driving, my stang rarely goes above 3.5K. A stock block with ANY type of forced induction will go fast if it has a bad tune.

A KB stang is PERFECT for a daily driver. As mentioned before, it drives like stock (if you're not heavy footed), and you can get instant power whenever you like. Perfect for those moments where you're quickly merging on the highway.
