I don't recommend the 1.5L kit to anyone. There are folks out there who've had some nice success with those kits but if I'm going to spend that kind of money, I want something that gives me options and room to grow. I would DEFINITELY choose a Vortech S-Trim over the 1.5L KB were they both presented and I were asked to choose. Even mild modifications to a 302 have the potential to push the smaller unit beyond its thermally efficient range (by that I mean you'll be trying to crank up the boost once you get bored with it and find that you're out of blower). They also do not come with bypass valves. If you're going to go KB, go big or stay home. hehe

Dagger- Is there any way to port a 2.2L? I've heard people with 1.5L KB's opened them up to a 2.0L.

I'd rethink that.
A KB 03/04 cobra, is not much, sometimes if any faster thant a ported eaton car. Ya, your dyno papers say you make more power, but if you can't get it to the ground, what's the difference.
Difference is that you spent 5 more grand.
You'll likely land up with high 10's regardless.
My buddy, laid down 651 in his KB 03, 10.9 is his best on a drap suspension, and slicks. Car just won't stick.
Less power yields better traction, equals the same 1/4.

If this is your DD like you say, i would not do it. I'd use a vortech S trim.

There is just no need for power down that low, and if you don't drive around on drag radials, you will soon need to.
During a race, a mustang never sees anything less than 3000 rpm in any other gear than first.

I agree - get the 2.2l. I had the 1.5L & now I have a 2L. I'd spend the money and get a 2.2L with Flowzilla (has integratged bypass valve). You'll get the instant boost and HP in the same package - and it'll grow with you when you want to make more power...

It doesn't work like that. The displacement of the blower is dependant on the size of the casing and size of the screws. What folks are porting is the intake side of the inlet tract. Induction restrictions make pretty significant differences to positive displacement blowers.

I have a 2L KB blower. Actually, KB doesn't offer the 2L compressor in their kits, but the manufacturer does make a 2L compressor and I have one. Works great on a 306.
