Key Fob Dead

My key FOB started getting weak, so I put a new battery in it,
now it wont do anything. Does it need to be reprogramed or something?
I never had one go bad until now.

The programming method is in the owner's manual.

Here's a snip:

Remember that all other fobs have to be present when programming.

1. Cycle the ign from off to on 8 times ending in the on position.

At this point your locks will cycle ( they will lock and then unlock )

2. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the 1st remote you want to program.

The locks will cycle ( they will lock and then unlock ) letting you know that it was
accepted.

3. Now quickly press and hold at the same time the lock and unlock buttons on the second remote.

Again the locks will cycle letting you know it was accepted.

4. Shut the ignition off now and the locks will cycle one last time.

Well I sucessfully reprogrammed the FOB last night on my 4th try.
First try I used Tims method but I was doing it wrong, too slow I think.
So I tried the Ford Manual method which was slightly different. In step 2
it said to push any button instead of holding down the lock and unlock button
at the same time. That would not work, tried it twice. Did the Tim method
again and it worked....
