So, I have had my 06 for a couple weeks now... love it! I have had none of the problems I see posted about the 05/06 models like the gas issue etc... However, last night I went to the store, got out of the car and locked it via the keyless entry remote, when I went to get back in my car, only the passenger door unlocked! I even tried using the actual key to unlock the drivers door, but that didnt work either. I had to unlock my door by getting in through the passenger door.

I had a problem with the door button (whatever it's called) hitting the door and thus not unlocking.
That forced me to go in through the passenger side.
I was able to correct it by screwing the thing out a bit so it did not hit the door when opening.
That may not be your problem but it certainly was mine.

there are plastic clips that hold the linkage to the latch. one may have come off, not alowing the actuator to unlock the car. pull the door panel and check the linkages. make sure they are all connected properly, and make sure there is no binding or rubbing.

I agree with the warranty advice. My problem was so simple that I did not bother going to the dealer. If it is not that simple, I would definitely have it repaired under warranty.

warranty is good, but it would only take a few minutes to pull the door panel and see whats going on. if it is something simple, fix it yourself. techs dont take as much care of your car as you might think (or would yourself)! if it is something that you cant figure out, or needs parts like an actuator, take it in. i would rather spend 1/2 hour doing it myself, than leaving it for a day at the dealer, and then they would have to order parts as well. add a few days for it to arrive, and there is a week long event. i had a very bad experience at my dealer, and it was 75 days from start to finish for a simple operation. my car was only in the shop for a few of those days, but all summer i was dealing with the dealerships problems with my car. they damaged parts, and would not agree to pay for them. is this a risk you would be willing to take?

if you are not mechanically inclined, then take it in. if you are, do it yourself. FFG asked if anyone knows about this issue. this is the first i have heard of it, but i am offering some ideas of possible problems/solutions.

yeah i can handle basic mechanics... i think if i can replace a starter and such i should be able to peek in the door panel.

Two words, warranty sucks

I'm with bigcat,
Do it yourself even if it is under "warranty" our local dealer kept our truck for 3 days and the trained monkeys they have couldnt find a problem, I got home and found it within 5 minutes, popping idler arm.

Recalls and major warranty work, let them do it if it has to be done.
