Kill switch options

I'm trying to come up with an idea for adding a kill switch to my '03 GT. I know that if some one really wants my car then a kill switch isn't going to stop them. A flatbed tow truck can take my car without even worrying about it but lets just say that it will make me feel better. So I would appreciate leaving the comments about it "not stopping a determined person" for another thread.

The best idea that I've seen on here is to add a switch into the fuel pump relay circuit and hide the switch some where inside the car. From the looking around that I've done, the relay was a pain to find. Posts said it was anywhere from under the driver seat, engine relay and fuse box, or in the trunk.

Well through my digging I found out that the fuel pump relay is in the CCRM and not a stand alone relay like previous models. So to my question, would it still make sense to add the switch in the line to the CCRM that controls the fuel pump relay? The main reason I'm asking is because there is a fuse in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment for the fuel pump itself. That seems much easier to get to but I don't know if it's a good idea or not. I wouldn't remove the 20 Amp fuse, I would just add the switch into that circuit. Is there any reason that I shouldn't do this and just try to work with the CCRM? Thanks
 
No offense but I wouldn't feel like tripping and resetting my inertial switch every time I leave my car. I might as well pop my hood every time I want to leave it and remove a key fuse or relay. At least with that I know someone couldn't reset the fuse or anything like that.

I was thinking about the PATS system as well but I just didn't like that if one of my friends gets my extra set of keys or someone steals my keys then the PATS system won't matter.

Like I said I know there are endless possibilities and that's why I was looking at some type of hidden kill switch. I just would like to know if I can hook it into the fuel pump fuse safely or if it would be better to try to tap into the fuel pump relay of the CCRM?
 
I have a fuel pump cut off switch in my car. I have an a1000 pump that would drain my battery during tunes. I tapped into the pink and white wire coming out of the inertia switch and ran it thru a switch. Very easy and works great.

By the way I use the same wire to trigger my fuel pump relay just like it does in a stock mustang.
 
Your key has a chip that's needed to disable the PATS system. If they don't have the key, they can't start the car; a kill switch isn't needed.

x2. PATS is a pretty good system. But they can still tow it. I don't leave me cars anywhere unattended. I stay near them when I go places. But if you have a DD, I understand your concern.
 
why not just add an alarm with a starter kill relay built into it. no extra switches to mount. no other holes drilled into wherever

I would love to but unfortunately I'm lacking the funds for something like that :shrug:

So the pink and white wire also runs to the relay? At least I think that is what you meant by that statement.

Yeah I wish I could do that as well. Unfortunately I still have to use mine as a daily driver so that kind of s~cks. The worst part is that I drive to a Rail station and park there so you can see where I'm coming from. I can't wait till I can keep it in a garage safe and sound.
