OK, show of hands..

Lets say your idling along in first (no foot on gas). If you punch it will it spin?

I have a stock (w/ k&n) '02 GT. It has 245/45/17 Goodyear Eagles for tires. 90% of the time it will not spin them when I'm idling and I punch it in 1st.

How bout you guys??

Mine lights them up pretty hard
It could be the hot pavement if its hot where you are.
Do that in the winter when the ground is cold and see what happens.
When I bought my car in december it was cold as hell one night and I
took my buddy around the block and got on it leaving a light and
BOILED 1st, 2nd, 3rd and chirped 4th. I was trippin. Then I realized
it was cold as fu## and the tires are harder. Summertime its much harder
to do that.

See that's another thing.. It's not warm here. I would say MAYBE 10 - 15 degrees C. So like 50 - 60 F.

do you mean from a stop or from a slow roll under 5mph idling in first?

if it's from a stop it's kinda hard to take off fast without spinning a little, if not it'll bog. but from a slow roll it won't spin much at all

I find no trouble making quick smoke from a slow roll

However, I do wish I had 600 RWHP!!!

with my stock tires and 4.10s, i could spin 1st pretty hard, through 2nd, and chirp 3rd. now with my brand new 275s, its harder to spin 1st i have to be cruising at ~3500 rpms and punch it to spin, however, i still can totally lose 2nd if i want but anyway, my new tires are TIGHT!! even if they are only Kuhmos

SKUD, i know what you're talkin about. I think with mine it spins a bit of the time...but sometimes it wouldnt spin if i punch it in first from an idling roll...

Anyway, doesnt matter too me now, i just put 4.10's in, so i think ill be wishing they didnt spin so much now. I havent had a chance to really try them out yet though, cuz i got them in yesterday, right when we got that damn blizzard!

Skud, manual or auto? If auto I would not expect for it to turn them over much at all. With my 410s and the street falkens, first will blow the tires off along with second, I can hit 3rd like a 327 geared car can hit 2nd and my mods are nothing, as you can see my HP ratings are not much but the car will lite em up easily.

It's a stick. Sometimes it will spin good through 1st, and a little through second, but not very often.

I've got a magnaflow catback in my room and the corresponding O/R X-pipe on order. I'm also going to try out my home-made MIL emliminators. Hopefully that'll fix my "problem".

It's nice to not have to worry about traction, but just sometimes I'd like to light 'em up without having to wonder if it's going to or not.

If I am cruising at 25mph and punch it I can spin em. With my few mods and the stock Goodyears I can scratch 3rd 85% of the time.

I can burn 1st, spin a lot thru 2nd, and chirp 3rd if Im powershifting and want to drive like a maniac lol. Normally when Im seriously going I will only spin 1st slightly and maybe chirp 2nd.
I know the cars not stock, but its still on stock tires and looks stock
