I have this knock when I first start my car in the morning. Almost like there is no oil there at first. Its only a few knocks then it goes away. Anyone else get that or know what it is or if its normal?

I have the exact same 'few' knocks on my '90 5.0 mt when I start it up. Not sure whats goin on but irs so small that I don't worry too much. I barely have time to disengage the clutch or shift into a gear to mess around with the noise Some people recommend switching oil filters. Haven't tried that yet.
I might have more insight to what this problem is if you get some nitrous and :Track:

Make sure to tell me how it goes

If you use a crappy oil filter there is no drain back valve so the oil will drain back into the pan.

Use Motorcraft FL-820S ONLY

+2, need a filter with the drain back valve on it. I use the Motorcraft filter, but mine still knocks just a little at startup if it sits for several days without cranking it. If I crank it every day, it doesn't.

It won't hurt.
Remember, it takes a bit for the oil to start pumping. It also takes a while for the oil warm up enough to flow as nicely as it should.

Just don't rev it, during the first cycling of the oil.

Definately try the old filter swap. I had knocking with a Mobil 1 filter, and it went away as soon as I swapped back to Motocraft.

That is odd about the filter thing. I was aware of the anti-drainback valve, but I had to switch from the motorcraft to a wix filter to eliminate the knocking.
