Are any of you guys running Kumho's if so what model (SPT, ASX, MX) and what do you think about them. I like thier price, but are they a good tire? Any input would be great.

I am on my 3rd set of Kumho's, seems like good bang for the buck.
1st set was Ecsta 712, then I tried the ASX and did not like
the feel, bad straight line tracking. So I went back with the 712's.
Get about 25 k out of them.

How many miles did you get out of the ASX's?

I know that the 712's are a good tire for the money. I quit buying expensive tires a long time ago because they only last like 15K and unless your car has a ton of HP or you race it, you don't need expensive tires. IMO.

I took the ASX's off after 25k also but they still had probably 5 k worth of
rubber left on them, they wear better, more evenly than the 712's, as well
as handle better in water, but they feel kind of "skrimmy" in normal conditions.

I have had the Ecsta MX tires on my car now since '03 and they have been an excellent tire.

I've got MXs and I like them a lot...Good tires for the price.

The ASXs are more of an all-season tire...They won't be quite as good as the MXs in dry conditions, but they will be a little better in adverse weather.

I had the Kuhmo Ecsta 712's on my 96 Cobra, and for the price the were a pretty decent tire. I dont know how long they last because they were on the car when I sold them. They were far superior the Falken Ziex's I had on it before.

What kind of mileage are you guys getting out of the MXs, I know that their tread wear rating is lower but those things are never accurate, IMO.

If you got the money get them. The kumho MX's are decent tires for
the money but, they are pretty much the best tire Kumho makes for a mustang.
I got my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's for 272 each from Discount tire because
they price matched.

Reason I ask is because I just got a set for my Mustang (really cheap from my one of my Dad's friends that owns a 'Cooper Tires') but I'm waiting to get my CC plates before I drive it. My alignment is jacked up and will just eat the fronts up if I drive it now ... When you say "skrimmy" do you mean like side to side 'drifting'? Like when you let your hands off the wheel it does not seem 'perfectly stable in a straight line' ? If so, I can tolerate that for now, especially since I got em' so cheap.

They are my first set of inexpensive tires .. well I had some Cooper tires on it and they were garbage so they got burned really good. But I used to only run BF Goodrich, Goodyear, Dunlop ... the best of the best. They would handle insanely good but would wear out so fast that it was just not worth the money after a while. We'll see how the ASX's work..

I just got my SPT's on yesterday and the car got aligned today.

I'll give some feedback after a week or so of driving.

For the price, they're really hard to beat:
265/35/18 front and 295/30/18 rear, 781.00 shipped to Hawaii. No way any other tire comes close to that price.

I misspelled, should have been skirmmy, but what I mean is the sidewalls
feel like they flex more during turns, the 712's feel stiffer and dont wander
as much in strait line driving

I went through a set of Kumho 712. For the price they are a good tire. Better than the stock Gatorbacks. I have the F1 GS-D3s now and they are much better but very pricey. I got mine under a special Goodyear sale for $180 each but they usually go for around $280 each.

I have had a few sets of Ecsta 712. Great bang for the buck tire. I pay about $300 for the fronts 245s and about $315 for the rears 275s. There way better then the stock Goodyear crap. I like these tires because they offer alot of performance with a good tread life and a very reasonable price. I dont do burnouts or drag but I corner hard so I need tough tire.

Kumho's are the only koren product I buy.

I have the Ecsta SPT 275/35/ZR18's. They have great wet traction compared to my old Nitto 555's.

:Word:

I'll try the 712's out when the ASX's wear out or if I don't like em'.
