Is anyone here using KYB struts and shocks with lowering springs on a fox body?? If so, how is the ride quality, and overall quality of KYB parts? Let me know any info you guys have.

Thanks

I have never ran a set of KYB's but this question has been asked numerous times and the majority seem to think that KYB's are at the bottom of the food chain and that they really dont mix well with lowering springs.

I am assuming that since you are looking at them, you are working on a budget and at 180.00 for all of them, its a tempting deal.

I went with the Tokico "Blues" which is a much better set up in my opinion and they only cost about 60.00 more shipped.

You can find them new on ebay for about 245.00 shipped for shocks and struts.

I am running them on a 91 vert with BBK lowering springs for about 1.75 drop and the ride is great.

Just something to think about.

Yeah, im looking for new shocks my self. My car is lowered about 2" in the front and 1.5" n the back. I only go to the track about 6 times a year, so im just looking for shocks that will give me decent ride quality, without spending hundreds of dollars.

I had the KYB gas adjusts ( the cheap ones). Had Steeda springs and the Shocks and struts only lasted about a year. That was with daily driving and a couple of trips down the drag strip. I replaced them with Tociko blues and ride quality has improveded greatly. I then changed to coil overs... If I change shocks and struts again Im going up to Bilstiens... Please remember.. You get what you pay for....I wasted the money on the KYBs and bought the Tockicos, I spent the same amount for my mistake and could have bought Bilstiens...

I have KYB's non adjustable struts and shocks with BBK progressive springs. 1.5 drop.

Ride is much better than the used 100,000 mile stock suspension. If your not looking to spend alot of money I think KYB is the way to go.

I'm not that thrilled about the BBK springs. The rear sits higher than the fronts. Gonna have to cut them. That's my only promblem with them. They did make my car handle better that's for sure.

Not to hijack but I have the progressive springs and cut 3/4 of a coil from the rear springs. Now the car sits perfect in my opinion. Level all the way from front to back. Not a fan of the forward raked look.

i have the cheap kyb struts and shocks and ford racing lower springs. it is a stiff ride i have zero body roll with this set up. i like it. i have gotten 1.7 sixty foot times at the track with the sway bar in N/A and a 1.6 sixty foot on my spray. i like the set up and have had it in for 5 years.

KYB and performance springs are a harsh ride...

KYB's are borderline okay for a stock replacement. But with any type of performance springs, you need something of better quality.
