I am just beginning a restomod on a 65 convertible. I would like to go with some late model buckets. What are the recommend seats to use? Will they bolt in or are mods needed?

most just bolt in, the 90-93 GT seats are very nice, so are 69/70 Mach 1 seats

i second the early machs. i want some but i got a interior set for xmas so its kinda out the question.

I have a 66 Mustang with 1985 1/2 SVO Mustang seats looks good feels good.... Had them reupholstered with smuilated leather... NICE... I think someone is selling a pair on dfwstangs.com for $225 front and rear I bought mine for $100 just front and bought the material for another $100 bucks and then had them reupholstered for $130 buck in Mexico that is front and back..

would post some pictures but they are too large for this site

Great seats

The seats look very sharp and very comfortable. Did they they bolt in without mods?

i have 86 gt buckets in mine which are similar to the svo seats except mine the halo rests and there is no inflatable lumbar like the svo's have.

I have '94 Mustang seats in my '68 - previous owner did the installation. I believe all you need is the rails from your Mustang and bolt it on the newer seat bottom frame. I am not sure if there's any drilling involved.

My previous owner put in high back Chrysler Mini van seats and had the rear seat upholstered to match. DON'T DUE THIS!!!!!!!! It looks horrible and isn't comftorable. That's why I have another back seat and the original seats being redone.

I'm the third owner the second was my brother(he didn't due any thing to the car just added fluid and drove) The original owner is his ex's mom. She comes by and see's how the car is going.(she had those seats put in)

About the seats, thanks for your good comments,

The only thing I had to do take off the off brackets from the orginal seats and bolt them up to the SVO seats, I also had to drill and tap two holes the bottom holes... They are not in the car as of yet.... I still have to do acouple of mods in the interior before they go in, Don't want to get them dirty....

Those seats are NICCEE. So are your rear seats redone with the new upholstery?

i got 97 mustang GT seats and swapped the brakes and dropped them in. I had to drill 4 holes (2 per seat) on the back part of the mounts, but that was it.

I just installed a pair from a 2002 Mustang - I think they came out looking pretty nice. Installation is straight-forward. Just drill new holes in the seat base to accept the original seat tracks, then bolt everything back in place.
