hi, im a little confused on how to launch my car at the strip for the best times....I have an AOD with a converter that i can stall up to 3000 RPM's...now my question is, should i stall it to the highest RPM i can get out of it, or do i just need enough RPM to load the suspension???? i have heard both ways?? or does it not even make a difference???
any help is appreciated
thanks!

i would stall at the highest possible rpm that ur tires dont spin at and then when u got the green release the brake while mashing the gas...pretty simple

I launch my AOD GT around 2350 RPM..it's slightly hazing the tires at that engine speed. Any lower, it bogs. Any higher, it spins. Mods:

TCI 3000 stall
3.73s
2.84ish 1st gear
275/50R15 ET Streets @ 18.5 psi
Stock engine with intake & exhaust. (No S/C).

That is…until I whipped out my Bissell

When i launch, i mash the brakes as hard as i can and give it gas up until the point where it wants to spin tires. On the last yellow i release the brake but don't floor it just yet. I delay slightly and then feed inthe throttle. When to give it gas is an experiment as adjusting my delay does improve 60 but giving gas too quick just spins tires and hurts
