I tried installing my LCA's a few weeks ago and had a ton of trouble getting them out. I finally got the ones in the TQ boxes out but the ones on the rear end are froze. Anyone else had this problem?

i had the same problem.. I had to cut of the ends of the bolts. I could get the bolts to move about 1/2 inch. so i cut one side. then used a hammer to pound it in as far as it would go and cut the other side.. then i hit the bolt back in so it was in the center or the control arm and just slid the control arm down... I would replace the bolts anyway. I got replacements at 50 resto, or you can get them from ford...

a torch will be your best friend

I had to cut the nuts off them (haha sounds painful in a non-mechanical way) then take a sledge and a metal rod and beat the living sh** out of the bolt to pound it out the other side. The bolt ended up coming out, but it was rusted solid to the metal inner sleeve of the factory control arm bushing.

Yes I had to get new bolts, oh well.

I was trying to install mine last weekend and had the same problem. The nuts came off easy enough, but the bolts would not slide out, no matter how I manipulated the jack under the arm. The bolt seems to be seized to the inner sleeve. I tried pounding the absolute crap out of it for about an hour with a 12" extention and a BFH. No luck. So the next day I went out and got myself a huge bastard of a C-clamp to press them out, we'll see if it does the trick. I sure hope so.

I was thinking of going this route. We couldn't find any bolts around us(saturday after 7) and didn't know if the tappered size matered or not.
