What effect do you think The Tornado on the end of the leaf blower would have? Here's a real hot-rodder's trick, get a dremel or whiz wheel and cut the floor board under the accelerator pedal so you can push the pedal down further, making more power. Keep a good layer of wax on the car so the air will slide over the car easier.

i saw a guy using an electric leaf blower. he had a 1000 foot extension cord and could not figure out why his car fell on its face with about 300 feet to go, in the quarter mile.

A leaf blower is pushing air. (0 boost)
A supercharger is compressed air. (boost)

Thanks Aaron, I was hoping someone could dig up that picture.

Rick 91GT: Would waxing my back and chest have the same effect?

How about putting a fire extinguisher in the trunk and have it discharge out the back. So you would not only have a blower but a bottle too. Would that classify as dual poweradders?

Also, reading your car bedtime stories is good for a 10th or two alone. I figure I should get about another 20 hp when I finish reading it Treasure Island. I've also been reading it the 9/11 report to make it hate imports even more.

Whatever blower you use be it a john deere or an engine supercharger, it has to move more CFM than the engine sucks in naturally aspirated in order to boost it.

For a stock 5.0 you want something more than 600CFM.

2 horsepower leaf blower? That's called an intake restriction.

The big ass leaf blowers with CFM ratings upward of 1,000 would give you some HP... but not much... at the very worst, they would eliminate the intake restriction up to the throttle body.

The very largest leaf blowers are bundled in a shiny aluminum housing, stamped VORTECH, and sold for thousands of dollars.

To lower ur ride and give it the cool blacked out look, put honda civic donuts on it! thouse things are like 12x3 slicks!!! imagine the g's u could pull with 3 inch wide slicks!!! deff in the 11 sec zone. Or u could put a high speed winch on the front with a 3g alt upgrade and just tow urself up the strip for better 60' times. Hell put ur wife on the end of the cold air intake and see how much boost ull get! vortec here we come!

C'mon guys - any fool knows that the Tornado must be placed on the SUCTION side of the leaf blower to obtain full effect of the vortice-inducing blades. Placing it at the outlet reduces it's effectiveness by 57.3298572957295837%, according to my calculations. Now if you put a tiny, little, itty, bitty tornado - more like mini-me tornado - on the tiny, little, itty, bitty two stroke carburetor that powers the leaf blower, then you can pick up a few more ponies due to the extra leaf blower boost produced by that little 2-stroke ring-a-ding-dinger leaf blower motor making more HP.

This is for the leaf blower dude. A Supercharger compresses incoming air and then forces it into the intake, This is what you call making boost ranging anywhere from 5.5 to 38 lbs, or whatever. A leaf blower would make about .0000000000004 psi of boost if that. Because a leaf blower doesnt compress the incoming air charge, it only blows it hince the term Leaf Blower.
