I brought my car to a guy to get him to re jet my carb and fix a oil leak that is coming from around my intake manifold. Turns out he says the reason it is leaking is because the heads mite had been shaved or the block might had been decked and the intake wasn't seating up right. And he said that i would have to get the intake shaved or somting so that it would bolt up right... have anyone heard of this? is this normal? I had one guy tell me to just put 2 gaskets on each side and see if it made it quit leaking but i don't want to half ass it. what do you guys think?

that may work or some silicone, but that may just be a temp solution, if you've got no money to do more it should work decently well.

When the head or block surfaces are machined & materal is removed, it changes the alignment betweem the intake ports on the head and the intake manifold. The intake manifold must be machined to restore the proper alignment.
