Hi

I'll try to run you through this as specially as I can

I bought an 06 V6 in October and the CE light came on and it was discovered to be running lean

On closer inspection it was found that the precious owner had cut out the guts of the converters and welded it shut taking the air sensor with it

So I replaced the entire exhaust and converters and replaced the air sensors

I also added a short pipe cold air intake

Now if I back it out and shift into drive downhill I get lean in both banks and occasionally a cyl 2 misfire

If I go uphill nothing

I have also thoroughly cleaned the MAF, TB, AIM. Reset the computer and did the normal drive in procedures

The cold air intake said it did not require a tune.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Unless the pipe on the CAI is the same diameter as stock where the MAF sensor is situated, the MAF transfer curve will be off and the engine will run lean.
It's therefore possible that the ECU does need to be retuned.

Alrighty appreciate that thanks

If I just continue to clear the codes until I can afford to tune it will it do any lasting damage

As long as you go easy on the throttle, it'll be fine.

Thank you

I assume that only applies when it is throwing codes like on take off. Once it is running normally drive it normally
