Leaving for Track in 20min! Guess E.T. Game :)

I was making around 330-340RWHP and I ran 30# inj at 43psi and was actually a little lean up top, I had a high pressure 255lpg pump feeding. Since I could see my injectors were at 84% duty cycle on my Speedbrain they were not enough and I was going to go to a 36# or 42# and tune around it. Ever notice how most of those NMRA P/S cars run large injectors? 310ci, 10 second monsters....

The mph is very low for that kind of power, and with that much torque he should get down the tracker a good bit quicker...gotta love those FTI cams.

Pro-M has always had issues with a 24# cal on 75mm Bullet, the curve just ins't perfect usually they are rich down low and lean up top. The 76mm C&L ran very good for me, but I did find my power was smoother when I switched to an 80mm Pro-M and combined with a 4" AFM power pipe I picked up a couple tenths both on and off the bottle. I say a switch to the 30# inj is a good start... buy the $25 sample tube for the C&L before you spend $300+ on the Pro-M.

What do you launch at? I use to leave at 5800rpm on my 26" x 11.5" ET STREETS, NA I would trap about 5200rpm 115-116mph.

The dyno is a tool...it is not gospel. In my expierence and some of the others I know we find you need more fuel at the track then on the dyno;) Read the plugs....white is lean, you want a nice charcoal brownish color.

my et streets are 10.5 I am dumb I coulda got 11.5, 10.5 isn't near rubbing at all....a/f ratio was 13.5 I believe, I was launching at very close to rev limiter, over 5k...and when I was ending it I was in low 4th I believe. :bang: car seemed to be running pretty good after I got that dyno tune, but then it seemed to slowly get slower I am unsure of problem, possibly since I up'd to fuel pressure to 55psi no vac to get a good tune from the 40 no vac that it was at caused alot of strain on the pump and now its on its way OUT. is it even worth it to get 30# should I go higher? 36#? I dont want to have to deal with this fuel problem again anytime soon...and I do have a n2o kit on the car too...set up for a 100shot. Thanks.

If you have a wet kit it wont matter how big your injectors are it gets fuel directly from the fuel rail thru the schrader valve, so your ok with the nitrous. I have to agree with Mike get the 30lb injectors and a 80mm Pro-m MAF, change your fuel pump also. Then get the car back on the dyno. 36's will be way to big.

If you have a dyno graph with air fuel I would like to see it. A pro m 80 would deffinally be better that the cal. Going to 30 lbs is a hard call. Put in the pump and drive the car. See if that helps any if not. then is time for a 80 mm and 30lbs.

Like mentioned before, over time the computer has made adjustments and now its lean. It just wont run right (for long) with a stock pump, 19s and 55psi. With the bigger pump and injectors that wont happen.

30s should be fine BTW.

ok guys here is latest news i just got back, removed damn quad shock pos's and put in the 255, it had a 190 in it gss242 walbro but that sock filter was clogged horribly, and once i pulled that off that lil indent on pump with built in screen was totally caked with debri of some sort....car seems to be running better but rich, i have to adjust Fuel PRessure now

who knows if it caused your problem, clogged pump could be it. It could be anything else just like mine. 24lb injectors are fine for your combo. Hell if your a/f ratio was good and you dynoed over 300rwhp then that shows that you good to go.

Find out why you have to put the pressure so high first of all, make sure the injectors are good.. I had 24lb injectors and I couldn't get the thing to trap consistant at all, I just swapped back to 19lbers and upped the pressure to around 45psi and it runs much better now. I'll find out saturday how much better.

welp, like i said that dyno was about a month ago, and a/f was good but car felt more powerful then, then it did the day i went to track i believe over that time inbetween the fuel pump got clogged or was getting clogged cause i started to feel hesitation, plus for that tune it was alot of fuel pressure, now i am at 46psi as opposed to the 55psi it was at (no vacuum of course) but i am having a slight problem i cant get the pressure lower then 46psi with my bbk afpr, has anyone had this problem? i was told to check fuel lines for possible pinching when tank was put back up...but that doesnt seem to solve any problem cause they dont seem kinked at all...i need to get the fp to 40-41psi no vacuum for max power, going to track again this sunday! someone help me lower the fuel pressure

Thanks, Mike

You have some type of problem going on. Why 55psi? I have never gone higher than 47 and in fact made my best pass at 40psi. Is this the psi you made your best pull at? I also think you are shifting too late. Try coming down 500 rpm. Your 60' is not good for that power on et streets. Maybe its practice. My car cuts 1.59 60's @ 3155lbs. STOCK suspended minus the front sway bar. Your mph doesn't correspond with your power output at all. Maybe you are having driveline issues at the track(Clutch, differential or tranny). Tom.

Yep, Didn't make sense till I saw that 190lph was gunked up bad, so hopefully car has even more power then before now we'll see Sunday cause I am going again! Anyone on Long Island wanna go too come meet up, more stangs the better! So far its me & grn92lx and a couple others

Dont mean to sound rude, but why not?Doesnt the clock start when the tree turns green?

Sorry to bring this up again...all reaction time is for is competition. Whoever leaves the fastest gets the advantage. You can have an awesome 1/4 time but a sucky r/t and lose.

For example.

Joe blow can leave at .600 and run a 12.90@105 and John Smith can leave at .800 and run a 12.80@115 and lose.

Now, John has the faster car, but Joe will win because he left .20 seconds sooner.

Even though he ran .10 slower, he had the advantage.

See? He would actually win by a .10 margin.

Hope this helps.

For 300hp I think the 24's are fine. You sure are running some high fuel pressure? I set mine around 39psi with 24's naturally aspirated with a FMS 110lph pump the car ran 8.36 @ 83.94mph with a 1.87 60ft on BF dragradials. I currently run a Walbro GSS340 pump with the fp set at 42psi with a Vortech sc-trim, same 24lb injectors and Pro-M 75. I have not got a chance to get to the track yet. I will switch out to 42lb injectors and a Pro-M 80maf before I run it again. You should be able to run 1.60's 60ft easy with those ET streets. Looking at your dyno I think you should set your shift light around 5400-5500 rpm that way by the time you see the light and react you will be around 5800-5900 rpm. This way when you start off in the next gear you will be around your peak torque.
