just got some 6" blue x5 wedge 194 lights and want to put them in my gauge cluster! you might be familiar with this mod, form millhouse or others. and since im swapping my AOD i figured i would kill this while the dash was all apart........
but i was told i could get by with 6 bublbs which is what i have. But there is like 11 bulbs back there, and i was wondering if anybody knows which ones do the main illumination for the guage i have no idea since there is no real pattern to the bulbs??? i only wanted to cahnge the color of the lights that do the main thing, not the turn signals and etc... these lil sobs were 25.00 shipped!!!!!! thats enough for just some bubls especially when i need some misc parts to finish my aod to t5 swap

did you use x5 bubls, cause if you used the single wedges then it wont be bright enough but im not saying the x5 will be! im just expermenting, and the back of mine are not labeled just numbers ex. 55,66,61 on the lil black things that you pull out. i have a 85mph gauge and i want to keep it, also this is out of an 88, but i guess yours is also????

any of the 194 bulbs will light it up just as good as any of the ones. I have a slew of different types of blue LED's in mine. I think I replaced a total of ten in my cluster for the illumination and threw a couple in the turn signal indicators too. Heres a pic of em in my car. I love the blue.

Is there a write up for changing these lights? I can get them free at my work and one of my cluster lights is out. How do you take the thing off?

Something I plan to do very soon... I assume new gauges would look better than stockers right?
