Nice Laff, you have a new car now. Must be nice to have that kind of confidence in your car when its completed . Have you been driving it this whole time ?

Yes I’ve been driving it for a year.
The old C 5 transmission just wasn’t up to handling the engine. It was giving up the ghost.
Will be installing an 8.8 in the next month or two. Upgrading the rear end ratio to 3.50 as Lentech suggested.
Lentech was great to work with.

Well this is an old thread
Before I started this project back in 2019 I spent a lot of time on this forum learning everything I could about what I was going to get into.
You, and others were very helpful to me in knowing what to do, and what to not do.
It wouldn’t be the car it is today without the wisdom, guidance, and suggestions that members here gave me.
I Love driving it. It handles like new, but still has that raw feeling.
I know that I didn’t take enough pictures during the build, but I will see what I can find.

Yep—had to go to the VA yesterday in Leavenworth, Ks.
1st chance I had to check the gas mileage out after installing the 8.8 with a 3.55 ratio a couple of weeks ago.
It got about 18.5 mpg.
Lost about 3 mpg from what it did get, but I was rolling it on I 29.

Thats whats cool with your new drive train. You can drive it like its new with that top down. Suddenly your twenty again

Hate to admit it, but I have never had the top down while driving it. Don’t know why—just never have.
Have to do that next Summer.
