Uh...you DO know that Lesnar was an accomplished wrestler in high school and college, right?
In fact if I recall he won a national title in college, or something along those lines.
Anyway, I hate that ridiculous tattoo he has on his chest now (ugh) and he sure is a lot smaller than he was when he was wrestling. I guess he's not on roids anymore.
Doubtful. He probably just dialed it back some in order to cut down on the muscle mass he's carried in the past in order to improve his conditioning. Carrying around all that extra weight (even if it is muscle) will use up a lot of oxygen and gas you in a hurry.Anyway, I hate that ridiculous tattoo he has on his chest now (ugh) and he sure is a lot smaller than he was when he was wrestling. I'll bet Lesner mops the floor with Mir. In the shape that Mir has come in over his last several fights, I'll be surprised if he doesn't pass out from exhaustion before the end of the first round. There's a guy who needs to lose his UFC backing if I've ever seen one.I bet 50$ Mir submits him in the first round

Just streamed the Lesnar vs. Mir fight. I guess Deft did call it. It's too bad, the way Lesnar came out and floored him twice I thought we were going to see a KO. I did think Mazzagatti's call to deduct a point from Brock right off the bat was kind of harsh.....not even a warning?!? Mir playing it up afterwards like it really hurt him was kind of cheese too IMO. He didn't even aknowledge the strike till the ref called it. Mir did after all turn his head away and got caught. To be honests, had Mazzagatti not separated them at that moment, the fight could have gone a completely different direction IMO.![]()
It was nice to see Mir come into shape for a fight for a change though, which has somewhat restored my faith in him. And he was a pretty graceful winner afterwards. I do feel the fans were unessarily harsh on Lesnar though. I guess no matter how well you do, they'll just never accept a past Wrestling "Entertainer" as a serious MMA fighter. You'd think he was Canadian the way they boo'd him?![]()
I think he could dominate Silva after he got him to the ground. Tim has good take down defense as we saw, but someone as big and strong as Brock could take him down pretty easily I think. Are there any non-youtube videos of the fight?!
My coworkers want to see the fight but all these sites are blocked...

Lesnar was all brawn and no brains. He was so cocky to start, thinking he could just beat his way into a submission...the fact is, he's not as good of a hitter as he thought he was. He came in thinking one punch would do Mir in and Mir took them all like a champ and used his skills to eventually take Lesnar down. If Lesnar actually learns that muscling his way through a fight won't help him and decides to use brains (though he doesn't seem like he has any from the interviews he's been in) he might be a decent competitor.
