Lets straighten out my suspension before I buy everything.

Ok, I'm redoing my entire front end and money is no option. This includes the suspension and the brakes, but aside from the spindles we'll worry about the brakes later.
I currently have a Flaming Rivers rack, manual, for pre 94 mustangs. A QA1 tubular K-member, steel C/C plates with spherical bushings, and a strut tower brace.
For the brakes, I would like to use the 94-95 spindles, and due to the year of my vehicle I must buy aftermarket lower control arms and run a coilover conversion.

Before you tell me what I should get I must inform you that I will not replace my rack or struts because they are brand new and I will not use ball joint spacers because that is cheap.

I know that SN95 control arms, struts, and tie rods are longer which makes for a wider track and so I'm not into that.

I'd like to keep my stock track, and reuse what I already have.
I'm assuming you can use the Steeda X2 balljoints to mate 87-93 control arms to 95 spindles so lets start there. This means I can buy 87-93 tubular control arms and swap out the balljoints to X2 allowing me to use the SN95 spindles and not change my track or travel.
Due to the lowering of the vehicle and the desire to change so much I will be using aluminum offset rack bushings to raise up the rack, and use a bumpsteer kit in place of my flaming rivers outer tie rods.

I guess I'm looking for a confirmation here on this setup. I'd like to know if it sounds good to you suspension guys, and if it should keep the current wheel track and travel or will things not work.
To summarize:
QA1 Tubular K-member, C/C plates, strut tower brace, sensatrac 87-93 struts, coilover conversion kit 87-93, X2 balljoints, 95 spindles, bumpsteer kit 87-93, offset rack bushings, 87-93 manual rack and pinion, 87-93 tubular lower control arms with X2 balljoints.

All you need is the SN95 ball joints with the SN95 Spindles.

Go with the Maximum Motorsports CC Plates and Coil Over kit.

As far as Tubular A arms, unless this is a track only car go with something that uses bushings. Spherical bearings transfere alot of vibration.

With the 94-95 spindles you can run pretty much any brake combo. 94-04 brakes.
Get some braided brake lines while your at it and dont forget the brake line adapter for the passenger side.

SmockDoiley, I'm thinking back to the control arms that I used with my K Member. I forgot I had replaced them long before I got the K-member with a Ford Motorsport Kit. Thing is, I still have them in the attic and they're already clearanced for the QA-1 K member. If you're interested I'll give them to you cheap. They came with the low friction ball joints but the only thing is, one of the boots is tore which is really no big deal. They're easy to find and slide a new one on before you install. I tore it when I took them off with the pickle fork. They're these: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...MS-M-3075-A&N=700+4294908331+115&autoview=sku

I'm not going crazy with the Tube arms, just regular ones so no rod ends or adjustability. I already have the C/C plates with spherical bushings. I guess I'm just tired of guess work because it looks like most coilover conversion kits dont have an adjustability for ride height except the QA1's so I'm just going to get those, 87-93 tube arms, X2 balljoints and so on. I already have the 96 spindles which I hear are slightly longer in track. If it extents the bumpsteer kit too far, I'll get the 95s. The jerk on Ebay claimed that the spindles are the same from 94-98 so I bought them. Now that I know better I asked to return them because his listing was incorrect and hes denying it. Even though he offers a customer satisfaction. Maybe I can go through Ebay since its an incorrect listing. He also said the people on Stangnet dont know what they are talking about.

Is anybody here interested in seeing this come together. I would think a lot of people here would like to see these swaps done. I was going to take a bunch of pics and show them but I rarely get anybody who cares about how my project is coming along. Kinda feel like I'm doing this all alone.

Most people exagerate with the width of the 96+ spindles. They are about 1/4" wider per side. But if you compare them to a 94-95 spindle the steering arm on the spindle is straight 90*'s On the 94-95 the steering arm had a big bend it in, which will cause bumpsteer.

I used the 96 spindles and have no bumpsteer, even with the car lowered quite a bit. Tires fit perfect too. Im running a 17X8" 99 Cobra wheel w/ 235/45/17 tires and I havent had them rub yet.

As far as the coil overs I would think any one would be able to adjust for ride height... but maybe im wrong.

Good luck on the project. Post some pics! :nice:
