as long as you drive your car regularly, the area on the rotor that is touched by the pads should never be rusty. The inner circle, towards the hub can be painted, and since the pads never touch that area, it will stay clean for at least a year.

This is true. I dont put a ton of miles on the car, so i would want them to look nice for a while. Say i dont want the stock rotors in the cobra kit...what would be recommended next?

I have STOCK size crossdriller and slotted rotors that mus tbe coated right because they dont rust at all except for a little surface area that is normal when it sits for a while after a rain or something. It shaves right off as soo as you put it in gear. My antilock didnt work which caused my accident but I am selling my rotors and calipers (new stock) if anyone wants them. Yeah they look cool but they dont brake any better than stock.

Michael, I'll try to get you the info on my rotors if you like. They are cross drilled (not slotted) and come with a guarantee. The only problem is that I haven't used them yet, so I can't comment on the quality short of the fact that they look very nice.

I got them on clearance from summit last summer for something like $35 each. Regularly they would be $70+ ea. probably. I believe the manufacturer name is roto-tech. google them and I bet you will be able to find a dealer. They can probably run you a custom job too.

Thanks bud, i found them in jegs for $70 each, just lemme know how they are when you get them on...ive got a month or 2 to figure out what i want, but i really wanna get the red powdercoated cobra calipers (loaded), some nice slotted/dimpled/drilled (dunno which yet) and ss lines. If you like those rotors, i can piece together the whole package for about $400.

I was looking for this a while back. Ford Racing has the best price, hands down. Call them and see if they will swap the normal rotors with some like you want.

That will put me much over $400 tho. The kit is $359, plus prob another $80-$100 for the rotors i want plus another $50 from stangsuspension.com for MM stainless lines.

If i piece my own together it will cost $200 for calipers, $140 for the rotors, and $50 for the lines. It will probably end up costing me around $425 shipped for everything.

So i emailed rotorpros.com who supposedly makes really nice zinc-coated rotors, and they quoted me $120. shipped for (2) 13" slotted/dimpled rotors. This is where the 4.6 section did a group purchase, and they are all satisfied, so its definately a possibility.

I installed the Bullitt calipers, Powerslot rotors from Summitt Racing last year plus MM stainless steels brakelines from Stangsuspension and love it. The braking performance has improved drastically. Remember to flush your brake lines as well with new fluid. For this I aslo purchsed the speed bleeders which helped.
