Lots of luck. But I also keep an eye on classified sections for the right deal to come along and jump on the good deals.

Mine is I buy stuff when it's cheap, even if I don't need it. Then when the time comes that I need it...I have it....and it was cheap. I have so much stuff in my garage it's crazy. 2 five speed setups, doors, fenders, engines, etc. Almost everything was a craigslist deal too good to pass up.

I got divorced and solved that lol. JK. Girlfriend and I have separate accounts and I plan on keeping it that way(I'm sure I'm just deluding myself).
That'll work just as well. That way she can see exactly how much of her money you're spending.
That's how my wife and I do it. We regularly sit down and go through the budget for things like mortgage, car insurance, 529 and retirement contributions, etc. and then fund a joint account that the bills are paid out of. After that, we have our own separate savings and do what we please that that money. She can buy whatever she wants, and likewise with myself.
