That's how my wife and I do it too. But she always asks to "borrow" money from me.That's how my wife and I do it. We regularly sit down and go through the budget for things like mortgage, car insurance, 529 and retirement contributions, etc. and then fund a joint account that the bills are paid out of. After that, we have our own separate savings and do what we please that that money. She can buy whatever she wants, and likewise with myself.
