license plate lights

my lights over my license plate have gone out. i replaced the bulbs, no luck. I have a fusebox diagram but cant seem to find the correct one. any help appreciated, i cant drive at night right now...its a 1995 gt

Easiest way is to check ALL your fuses.... not just a certain one. Also check the wires in the trunk. The wires bend on the back side where the hinges are. It could have broke there.

Have you checked to see if you are getting voltage to the bulb sockets? Also, look in the sockets to see if they are rusted. That could keep the bulbs from making contact.

Good Luck. I just bought some replacements for the housings (mine cracked and broke) and the replacements were starting to crack as well. So I shot some clear coat on them inside and out. I would recommend doing that when you take them out again to check the voltage. Our cars are getting old and those are one thing that will fall apart on you.

where did you buy the replacements from?

I'm cheap.... salvage yard, that my buddy owns. I cleaned them up, reshot the front half with black paint and then clear coated them. Haven't put them on the car yet... but will soon.
