lightning heads

Hey, Is there any advantage to using the heads off the 351 lightning trucks or are they the same as the gt-40's or gtp's?

Thanks

They are GT40 Heads, the down side of using them from a Lightning instead of a Cobra are

1. They have 1/2 inch bolt holes so you will need step washers or bolts. (not a big deal)

2. They have a larger combustion chamber 69cc I believe which will lower your compression ratio depending on your pistons to under 9.0:1.

You could mill them, but it would have to be a lot to bump the compression back up and for the amount you would spend, I would go with some GT40P's and new headers needed to make em work.

+1. I'm in the same boat though with some '69 351W heads....they're ported and polished really nicely though, probably will out perform P heads, but they need a new set of valves....
