Hey just wondering what everyones opinion is on lightweight flywheels. I am getting ready to take my old one out and instead of resurfacing my old one, I should get a lightweight one. My buddy put one in his lil honda and it made a hell of a difference! Just wondering!

The lower inertia of the lighter flywheel will allow the engine to rev up faster when you blip the throttle, shed revs faster when you release the throttle, and will allow a slightly higher percentage of the engine's torque to be transmitted to the rear wheels.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Better for the street, but worse for the track. It's going to allow your engine to rev up faster when you're getting from a dig. However, if you're running slicks on the track, it's going to lower the momentum of the engine, and lead to higher ETs.

i say go for it ,i'm putting one in my car to lower my et's by not hitting the tires so hard on the launch at a given rpm.
