whoa tripple thread post. easy on the post button!

go snag one of those dealer paper plates and put it on in the meantime. my buddy has had his car for nearly 6 months with no tag, just driving around on the dealer plate. stupid as hell, but its worked so far.

So when you get pulled over now you will need to have your answer ready.
1. I lost my plate
2. My plate was stolen
3. I just bought this car, (to explain a stolen dealer paper plate)

yah i called the police department and they sent a cop over and i reported it. I kind of need the car this weekend (for work n such) so thats the main problem and sec. of state isn't opened until tuesday sooo, i guess im going to be driving around with no plates lol. The cop said he wouldn't reccomend it because it depends on the cop who pulls me over they could tow my car which I wouldn't be too happy about. Oh well, guess we'll see what happens, lol i just need to keep a look out for cops so im guessin that cop radar will come in handy

So to clarify... you only had one plate and it was missing? Or two plates and only one is gone?

If you still have one, drive the car. If you have none, don't drive.

Sucks but **** happens. Get a replacement as soon as possible. You did right to report it so when a major crime happens and your plates are involved you won't be in court for it.

Time to start collecting old plates. I have my old Colorado and Nevada ones hanging in the garage. I actually sent one from each set to a girl friend in Germany for her bar.

One plate in MI. If you filed a report (which is the correct thing to do), keep a copy of the case number with you or any paperwork indicating the agency/complaint number in your wallet until you make it to SOS on Tuesday.

just get a piece of paper and write your plate number and "stolen tag" on it in big bold letters. put it in your back glass and you should be fine. as long as you already reported it there should be no problems. its not your fault your tag was stolen!

That happened to me one time....only the two guys that stole the plates off my car proceeded to get into a hit and run accident so the police came knocking on my mom's door at midnight telling her I'd hit another car and left the scene of the accident! lol

Hmmm... I would think that could work. As long as you have your registration on hand with that information, why shouldn't they give you the benefit of the doubt?

Nice SaleenGT2001!

Hmm. I'm not sure some cops will appreciate a nice Mustang roaring by, with some handwritten license plate on the back, and the word STOLEN on it to boot...

Don't be surprised if you get hauled off to jail for armed robbery.
