A buddy of mine has a very nice bone stock 66 289 4v. The broblem is under load it feels like it is loaded up realy bad. Its like hopping on a cold 2 stroke dirt bike. Idles perfect at 700 and reves nicly to 5k sitting in the parking lot, but as soon as he gets on it its a dog and sounds terrable. I put one of my extra holly carbs on there and it did the same thing. I reset his points and timing and still nodda. He just bought some plug wiers and we are going to put them on tomarrow. Any idiea.

check the distributor to make sure its advancing properly, I was gonna say to replace the accelerator pump, but since the other carb did the same thing, you can rule that out.

I reset the base timing for him, how can i check to see if it is advancing? Thanks

O yeah its threw the whole rpm range, from when he puts his foot to the floor till he shifts.
