Local Dynojets?

Hi guys,

I was looking at KVR Performance and TAPP Auto, as a place to go and dyno my GT. I noticed they only have Mustang dynos. Does anyone know of any place that has a Dynojet? I don't really want to use a Mustang dyno as the numbers are typically lower then a Dynojet, and they are harder to interpret.

Anyone know of a place?

A dyno is a dyno. Yes a mustang dyno shows lower numbers, but the numbers are more acurate when compared to real world conditions.

Not sure what you mean by harder to interpret?

I know a dyno is a dyno. I just wanted a Dynojet run because most other people have Dynojet runs, so it is easier for comparison sake. Thats what I meant about harder to interpret. I mean, if there is a Dynojet and a Mustang dyno in my area, why not just use the Dynojet?

Cool, thanks for the site! The closest one to me is, I guess, about a few hours away. Not TOO bad, but still far. I'll just go to the Mustang Dyno I guess, it's only 15 minutes away.

I wish there was a dyno in my area... closer than the one that is now in northern NB and in Halifax somewhere. I should start my own shop...

Yeah, the guy in halifax, hes pretty good. i've had my car on his dyno a few times. However id like to see an in-house dyno. So it wouldnt matter if it was raining out or whatever.

Im supprised NB doesnt have one closer to SJ or Sussex.

Just multiply numbers by roughly 10% and you have dynojet numbers.

What do you mean? Dynojet numbers are off by 10%?

Dynojets generally read about 10% higher then a MD dyno. Neither readings are wrong. They just calculate the HP differently. However a MD (mustang Dyno) is said to be more acurate then a Dynojet as it takes real world conditions into account. lIts more likely to what youd see on the street.

The thing with Dyno's..they're tools. Use them to tune the car and such..too many people use them for bragging rights.

Clic on my signature and you will see my car with the same mods on a Dynojet and a few weeks after on a mustang dyno , this is the best way to see what is really the difference.

LOL i wouldnt exactly say that im owned. lol That is suprising that the torque numbers are so much higher on the MD dyno. Your MD numbers say SAE corrected. are your dynojet numbers SAE corrected too? Dont think hat would matter too much anyways.

Anyway, great numbers mpcv2000! And in General, id still say dynojets show higher numbers.

Both were SAE corrected , 2 weeks apart .

Dynojets are more popular but I think Mustang dynos are more accurate .

Most of the OEMs and after market companies like to show high HP numbers and most of the time STD ( about 4% highers ) then SAE and I'm pretty sure they use Dynojets.

Again if I'm not mistaking on a Dynojet you spin a fix weight ( don't know the weight tho ) and on a Mustang Dyno they put the weight of the car before dynoing it , so this is as close as you can get of the real thing .
