i am in the process of some wiring work on my car and have the interior stipped out to make things easier.

my FP relay is under the drivers seat and my MAF/o2 relay is near the passenger side shock tower.

my papers and info i printed off say there is an ignition relay and EEC power relay.

my car is a 91 and am wanting to find these two relays to make sure all is good wiring wise.

so if someone could point out to me where they are it would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have an O2 or MAF relay.

You have a WOT relay near the passenger shock tower.

Your EEC relay is above the EEC in the passenger kick panel.

You don't have an ignition relay.

Once you find the EEC relay, it sounds like you have the bases covered.

Good luck.

alrighty i bet its still hooked up then i will check.

and thanks for correcting me on the MAF o2 relay deal. i printed off some info on the net and it listed those. i had personally never heard of the ignition relay or maf o2 relay but have heard of the WOT relay and i do have that one by the passenger shock tower.

here is the page i saw them on, wonder why they are on there if they dont exist.

I see your point. On aero fox (III) Mustangs, I'm not familiar with the extra circuits like are depicted. I would have thought perhaps the diagram (about 3/4 of the way down the page) was for another Ford except it explicitly says it's for MAF Aero foxes. Furthermore, there were subtle differences in the wiring pathways, even from 88-93. And we dont have underhood fuses, as appear to be depicted in the schematic. Even my 94 (with an underhood fusebox) doesn't have those relays (not in the underhood fusebox or in the CCRM).

Joel might have some insight here.

Those are diagrams of the aftermarket harnesses they sell at http://rjminjectiontech.com/, not the OEM types.

Ahh, makes sense.

I didn't realize we were on a products page.

FoxFan, you can access actual (factory) schematics on that site as well. That's where I normally go (if something isn't on Joe's site and I'm too lazy to grab an EVTM).

We should note that Joel has put up some good stuff on SBF Tech.

i didnt realize those diagrams were for their own product either lol

i was also using these diagrams tmoss made, found them on veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine

http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/88-91_5.0_EEC_Wiring_Diagram.gif

http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/91-93_5.0_EEC_Wiring_Diagram.gif

http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/mustangMainHarness.gif

these diagrams show just the WOT/AC cutoff relay which i have near the shock tower. my fuel pump relay is under the drivers seat and i am pretty sure my EEC power relay is above the EEC. i could find that one.

the whole story behind this... when i bought my car it had a painless aftermarket harness installed on the car. some PO did this before i ever got the car, it seems to have worked fine, but the person who did it sort of did a hack job it seemed like. just didnt look like the cleanest install.

once i got my tweecer up and running and when to datalog i wasnt getting any o2 signals at all. didnt seem like an o2 issue, i am thinkings it possible it could be a harness issue.

chances are its not but it just gives me a good reason to get rid of the painless harness that was installed. another thing is the stock harness has just been hanging on the car. not being used. and i have the fuel injector section in the garage, it was given to me with the car. so i went ahead and tore the old painless harness out and am going to try and run the stock one, i am just one of those sort of guys that likes to have the clean factory stuff you know.

we ran a continuity test on most of the wires in the EEC harness and they all conducted electricty so there want any broken wires. we have done them all we ran out of time but i dont see why where would be anything wrong. we have no idea why someone installed an aftermarket harness on the car. i guess were fixing to find out. maybe they were just stupid or the stock harness was bad or had a bad wire (no reason to go through the trouble to replace the harness for one wire IMO) so we will have to see if it works.

another thing. i am pretty sure the VSS pigtail comes out from the drivers side of the trans tunnel, well someone just cut the stock pigtail off and left the 2 wires hanging. so i had to cut off the pigtail from the painless harness to put it back together. my wires for the VSS were orange and green, not exact matches to the diagrams but i dont see where else they would run the wires for it so i am pretty sure they are the right ones.

they also cut into the stock harness to splice into the green Fuel pump wire under the drivers side carpet going to the gas tank. instead of running new wires back there correctly.

we have fixed it all and just need to make sure all the wires arent broken and button it all up. i ended up pulling the whole interior out to make things easier... also a good time to give the interior a good detailing lol

i hope it all works
