....it should work with your '04.Basically not much has changed in '04 from '03.Just look at your vin for the letter X.
When i went to buy mine for my '03 in early '03,they still didn't have the part # for a locking gas cap,so they gave me one for an '02.And it's still on my stang.

DANGIT!!!!!!!!!! Man that same part# works on every ford car? Fords site said that these ones only work on this car and those only on that car and there wasnt one available for the mustang. Didnt say that, but there was no locking cap for the stangs. Oh well, I payed $300 for a SWEET locking door cover. Here is what it looks like, should get it tomorrow.

Yep, it'll work just fine! It's a nice little piece.

It would make sense from a manufacturing point-of-view that Ford wouldn't have tons of different gas tank/filler neck combintations for its vehicles.
