i drive my mustang daily, to school, work, errands, etc. etc.

on monday, i drove it to and form school, and ran many errands, filled up my gas tank and then went home.

last night i was getting in it to go for a drive, and it started right up as usual, but then started shaking a little bit and died.

i had to pick up my girlfriend from work, so i hopped in another car. i was too crunched for time to see what was wrong. today, on further inspection, i found that the accelerator pump wasn't pumping any gas into the valves. so i pulled the pump to carb fuel line. dry. i checked the like from the firewall to the pump. dry. checked the line from the sending unit to the steel line. dry. i rapped my knuckles on the tank and to my surprise, it clanged. empty.

someone siphoned all the gas out of my tank!

anyways, my point being, is this:

the only locking gas cap made for 65-66 mustangs? i think it's pretty damn ugly . . .

are there other alternatives to this? are there different ones made? i'd be interested to know, but if i have to, i'll buy this one. it only takes a couple of tanks to be emptied before that cap is worth it's value in fuel.

If you don't want to spend that much go to autozone and get a cheap one, then buy some of the chrome paint if you prep the cap right and clear coat it it will stay for a while. I did it on my 71 ranger custom, had a few people ask me where I got it. I have to admit though my cuz does paint so that makes stuff always look better.

By the way mythbusters proved that sugar in the tank doesn't do anything unless you pretty much put enough in there to hop up about a 1000 pre-schoolers.
