is it normal for the mod motors to take a long time to have the RPMs come down, (not in gear)

like i rev it up and it take a goob bit of time to come down, as opposed to my 5.0, it has a snappier rev to it,

i thought it was just a gunk build up on the TB so i hit it with a lot of carb cleaner and it did nothing,. can i put a stiffer sping on it?

i was just wondreing if thats normal

oh, and how do i use the maunal idel control thing, theres nothing there for a screwdriver or a wrench, am i missing something?

Idle speed is controlled by the PCM and it is common for the 4.6L to take a long time for the revs to drop. There was another post recently dealing with this very issue. Just do a search for "pesky idle" and you should find it. :nice:

Nope, the copper cap is the same size as the small metal pipe coming out of the IAC. I've got it in mine, and it works pretty good, especially for only a couple cents. :nice:

well i did it today, drilled a 1/4" hole instead of 9/32 and grinded it down a bit, but it seems to have done the trick, still hands around 1500 a bit more than id like it

only downside is it seems to have made it a bit rougher driving, instead of being able to take my foot off the gas in gear i have to take it out of gear or else is slows the car down like downshifting, but hey, if im racing, or takeing a chick out i can always take it out first and put it back in after im done
