about two weeks ago, i had bought a 2000 watt amplifier (yes, my system goes boom!) and saturday my dash lights went out. before this all occured my clock had been working when it got ready. my fuse keep blowing for my dash lights as soon as i cut the lights on. the clock would also go out when i cut my lights on, but would come back on when i cut the lights off. what's the deal, is it my dimmer, or what? thanks

the clock must run on to different electrical sources because when i cut the lights on the clock goes out(dash fuse keep blowing and i changed the headlight switch) but when light are off the light the clock is on. can anybody help me?

serious man,get up under there and start poking around, use a mirror if you have to,and also use your sense of smell, you can smell short
well i guess it's worth a try, cause i'm tired of listening to my pipes to determine how fast i'm going in every gear.

you will see a short,if not the first day, don't give up,it is there, you will find it,give your brain time to work between the frustrations ,it will come to you,all of a sudden it will appear like a sunrise, also use the process of deduction

u sure its noy a fuse? i would do what everyone else is sayin and look for some sort of short, but first pull out the headlight/dimmer switch and check out the connecting wires.. maybe ur new subs rattled something loose in there

update: it was the amp turn on wire to the CD player that was hooked up to the wire to the amp. for some reason it kept throwing my dashlight fuse. i'm here to tell all now that the wiring schematics in the haynes manual isn't correct for the diagram[typical instrument panel illumination system]. the number 13 fuse was out and that controlled nine electrical objects, but three still worked despite what the books says. i bought a new headlight switch for nothing, oh well. i used the ACC/Run wire coming from the car's stereo system wires to reconnect the remote wire to the amplifier. i guess the 2000 watt amp in combination with the factory amps was too much for the amplifier turn on lead circuit to handle.
