I am looking at some long tubes. What are the benifits to a ceramic coated header? JBA has a stainless steel and a stainless steel ceramic coated header for the '05. Is the ceramic coating really worth $300??

If not JBA headers.... then which ones? Any opinions??

I think the coating has two uses depending on where you read about.

If they are only mild steel pipes then the costing is always claimed to prevent corrosion, but if they are stainless steel this is irrelevant.

The other claim is lower temps, if you are running a realy highly tuned motor then it should be of benefit, but a cheaper option would be to buy the regular stainless items and wrap them in insulating material to reduce the heat in the engine bay.

Personally if you think you will keep the car for 10 years plus go for the coated, if you think you wont have it anywhere near that long don't. There will be no performance difference.

I have ceramic coated headers on my 95, they have been on for over five years and haven't discolored yet. Also, you get reduced temps.
