Long Tube Headers

Well, here is the next round of mods. Should have them installed by the end of the month:

MAC Ceramic 1 5/8" Long Tube Headers
MAC Stainless Steel Prochamber w/Hi-Flow Cats
MAC Catback Stainless Steel Exhaust with 4" Slash Tips

Any ideas on a performance gain from this system? I am at 205 RWHP now with the mods in my signature. I currently have the stock Y pipe (with a JBA muffler). I am hoping that this and a 93 octane tune will get me to at least 215 RWHP, which would put me at about 250 HP at the crank. I just hope I do not lose any torque....

I just hope that the sound is not too much! I like the how smooth the JBA muffler sounds, but figured on a "MAC ATTACK" by staying with everything from the same manufacturer.

BTW, the system outlined above is going to cost the same as the JBA system I was originally going to get, which was ceramic shorties and the true dual JBA set-up (which is not even SS).

i dont think 215rwhp is out of the question. The real question is where its going to shift your power band. You may be giving up a few ponies in the bottom end.

That's what I am afraid of. I love my Torque curve right now (basically STRAIGHT UP and staying there) and my RWTQ. I am afraid of spending that money and actually LOSING torque.

I'm keen on the MAC prochamber and LT's, but not on the catback system. I have heard the catback system has quality issues and thier technical support are pretty much useless. I would go with a JBA cat back since you like the sound of the one you have on now, or go with a gt take off piping and choose mufflers of your choice.

You've got a good point. I thought the quality issues were with the HTS coating. These are stainless steel. Aren't the MAC mufflers supposed to sound pretty mean?

I read thier quality issue was a fitment issue with the pipes. I need to find the post on this, but I would look into this. I'm not sure how they sound, that one is all opinion based so go with what you like best. Going with GT take off pipes gives you stock quality, but then you can pick any muff you want after that.

And take it from me, its my opinion having stock GT pipes or a system designed to take any muffler is best. The one proplem with my system is the mufflers are straight through design, and actualy up up towards the axle, so changing out the muffs on my system would require cutting, and then custom bent piping. With the JBA system or even MAC, you can actually see where you can change out the mufflers easily. Cutting is ok, but having a shop provide custom bent pipe around the axle is very expensive.
