This will be my first time installing LT's and I'm using the article from www.fnsweet.com

Can anyone tell me roughly how long this might take if I use a lift and power tools at a shop?

FWIW, I have flowtech LT's, X-pipe, and Magnaflow Catback to install.

My ''guess'' 6-8 hours if you don't hit any major problems.

Maybe lees than if you have helping hands. I'm not really sure everybody i've ever talked to says that headers take a long time to install and can be very time consuming.

Its your first time? prolly all day. Because your double, triple checking what your doing. Plus your not sure who everything is situated there. Getting all header bolt to tighten I think took me the longest. Some bolts with BBK LT is impossible to get to, and you can only turn about1/100 of turn at the time. If you have air tools, may be bit faster with everythng else tho. First time i did(following same article), took me 2 days.
Secondtime, about 6 hurs. 3rd time, 3 hours..

Ahh...

Well, there will be plenty of people on hand to help. I'm doing the install at a GTO meet and there will be plenty of people on hand that have installed headers before....just not sure how many (if any) of them have installed Mustang LT's before

friend will help. Just that some header bolts takes forever to tighten due to space you have even with K-member off. Htere are couple of holes in frame rail. I had to look through there whenI tighten rear top bolts on mine(those with BBK knows exactly what I'm talking about)

Yeah, I've got mine sitting in my living room and every time I look at them it sends a chill down my spine thinking about the install. But the gains are worth it. I'll have them on by the end of the month. Good luck on your install!!!!

My Mechanic did it in like 6 Months lol. J/K had alot of work done and they went in with the new engine. He dropped the entire K member in under an hour.. might be a good idea if your using a lift and power tools. I think if it would have been a straight header install he coulda done it in under 2 hours.. honest.

Well, when you install LT 3 times(Actually 4 Times) in 2 weeks time, you get pretty good at it
Installed LT. Week later, clutch blew apart. take off LT to install new Spec in.4 days later, Took LT off again to take out POS Spec clutch, and install king cobra clutch in. And day after, Take it off yet again to install new header gasket to replace leaky header gasket....

Trust me. U get really good at it

Which reminds me. If your going to install LT, plan to do your clutch at the same time. U'll never know what'll happen after you install LT headers...

Hey mity2, how are the BBK LT's quality-wise and everything?

I know they're supposed to be good, but I just wasn't sure

Actually it was excellent. Mine was ceramic coated, and frange was straight, and as much as it looked as it may not clear everything, it did, have plenty of room around steering shaft. Only issue I had was I had to disconnect EGR tube at the intake, and bolt it to the header first, otherwise will not turn without crossthreadding the thread. It was great buy for 350bucks, and i definatelly recommend it to everyone.
Just not their X pipe. Get H

Ahh that's the beauty in these headers....I won't have to loosen/uninstall them to do a clutch change
