Long Tube Or Short Tube Headers?

I just installed some BBK longtubes on my car. No problem or removal of the steering shaft on the drivers. You just have to jack up the motor. The passenger side slipped in from the top after jacking the engine on that side. No problems with the starter. I hear Mac's require alot of changes.

Yes different days, different tracks, and Im sure I was a much better driver. But the car went 1.89 60' and a 13.8 @ 98, then 1.75 60' and a 13.0 @ 103 after. This was a change from Mac shorties and catted H to Mac LTs and prochamber. The set of the pants feel was great to, it picked up all over the power band! I can only go by what I have experienced, so Im a big fan of LTs!

I would go with a shorty header on a street car for a few reasons.

1) Easier installation
2) Cheaper to buy
3) Doesn't require a different h/x pipe
4) Lower under hood temps
5) No problems with O2 sensors not reading right for being too far away
6) Easier when it comes time to change the clutch


Other factors to take into consideration are:

BBK's = Good Quality, Good Fit, But hang low and have small ball joint collectors
MAC's= Big collectors, Poor Fit, Poor Quality

I'll stick with shorty's for the street.

Take your pick.

you can always wrap your headers if you are concerned with temps. i did and its awesome, looks cool too.
