well after not having my stang in my possession for about a week i finally got it back today. I took it to the shop that i was able to use on last monday and started working on it and had to leave it, and wasnt able to work on it again till last friday and then again today. and we finally finished installing the headers today.
I'd have to say that having access to a lift actually made the install a lil easier. I just wanna say that i appreciate all the information that i have found on this site that helped guide me through my install. Well in short i installed a set of BBK Long tube headers and a VRS catted x-pipe and attached both to my magnaflow magnapack catback. I must say that its not as loud as i was hoping for. In fact i think it even made it more quiet compared to my previous set up, stock manifolds, o/r x-pipe and magnapack catback. But it does have a more throaty sound to it compared to the raspiness it previously had.
But below is a link of a couple pics that i had time to snap while doing the install.

Dropping the K-member is the way to do it. L/T's will be quieter than shorties no matter what mid pipe and cat-back. My 96 is super quiet, especially with the Dyno Max Super Turbos.

Nice job. What kind of "seat of the pants" gains did you notice?

well it feels a lot more responsive than it did before, and a lot quicker. I just cant wait to go to the track to see what times i can run now after all my mods i just recently installed since last year.

Wild shot in the dark here... But your car is probably quieter because you went from an O/R midpipe to a catted one... Just a thought.

How do you like the BBK's? They are the same ones i have. I love them. I do have a bit of a leak on the driver's side, but i'll fix that. I really want the vrs o/r x. How do you like that?

I actually like the bbk's. so far i dont have a leak, so hopefully i wont get one either. As far as the VRS, i like it, its well made and fits great. but i just wish i could have gotten an o/r x pipe but o'well.

As far as the question mentioned about the stock header bolts, i just reused the stockers, but had to cut a couple down to make em fit.

ok so no video yet due to it been raining past few days. but i do have one question, im satisfied by the sound of the exhaust now. but i just want it a lil louder. I was wondering if i get an o/r x-pipe, would it make it louder. I kinda miss the loudness that was there before so is there anyway that i can make it louder again? even if its not as loud as it was before but just louder than it is now.

With offroad x it'll definetely be louder especially with the packs. How do you like the packs? I'm thinking about getting rid of the flows and going with some packs.

I love the packs, I wouldnt trade em for anything. And yeah im really hoping that once i get the o/r pipe that it will be much louder, hopefully as loud as it was before.

Yea dude it'll open her up nicely. The cats are quieting it down a bit. The LT's will make it quieter at idle and partial throttle, but they'll scream at wot.
