I have an E-303 cam, is it common to need longer pushrods? My stock pushrods are too short. I this is a common problem what pushrods is everyone using and where are they getting them.

I take it you're not getting the recommended preload on the lifters when you bolt down the rockers? (You've got the stock pedestal rockers?)

Something doesn't sound quite right there, being a Ford cam, I would think
it would have the same base circle diameter thereby taking the same length pushrods.

Have you checked the Crane Cams sight
for their instructions on how to determine
correct pushrod length? That helped me
a lot.

I used to have an E in mine; the stock pushrods worked fine with both the stock rockers and with 1.7 roller rockers. The E is supposed to a stock base circle cam, so the stock length pushrods should work. What else is done to the engine? Is it possible the pushrods in the engine weren't stock length to begin with? Or there's a dimensional difference with the lifters, or pedestal height?

The pushrods are new from Advance auto parts. What is the Crane website? The lifters are stock. I know it doesnt sound right but I just cant get them to load up or something they have been primed a ton to no avail.

www.cranecams.com

Did you compare the length of the ones you bought to the ones that came out? The parts stores occasionally make mistakes.

Sorry about posting under littlej1414's name I didnt realize my friend was still signed on. I know that these pushrods should work could the lifters be shot? If so why would all of them be bad?

I compared them they were the same, I work at the Advance Store in Lawton,OK, I looked them up. I even bought one new rocker assembly and tried it and it didnt help, I guess that would leave it being the cam or the lifters right? I wish I hadnt already put the intake on........
