i have a 96 gt with a mac off road h pipe and flowmaster 40's and i want it louder and more power. i was told longtubes is the way to go to achieve this. how difficult is the install.... what am i getting myself into cause i havent heard very good things.

Better have some time and a good tool set. It takes some effort but it can be a driveway project. Myself I won't do it because it is a pain. You would also have to swap the midpipe for one that will fit the longtubes.

It's a pain in the ass. I had to jack up my motor, rock it back and forth so I could get the bolts out. This is the bottom line if u have a lift and engine lift, know how to to diconnect the motor and all the wires and crap you can do it. BUT not alone. I would have somebody else do it for me cause it was the most painful thing to do to my stang.

Biggest bitch is clearence.

You're going to have to drop the k-member in order to get enough to squeeze them in there and if you ever plan on getting a tubular k-member now is a GREAT time to install it.

Remember also you're going to need a way to support the engine when you drop the k-member.
