Hey guys I think I might actually have enough money in my budget for some longtubes this spring. I really like the MAC and the price is also probably the best for the 96-98 cobra headers isnt it? They're like $329 compared to like $500 for the BBK's and I hear the BBk actually makes your car sound quieter if that is possible or even true I am not sure...just some mustang gossip i thought I would throw out for opinion. Anyways my budget will probably only allow for a set of the mac headers and one of the pro chamber mid pipes. I was wondering exactly how hard is this to do and what exactly do you have to do? Does anyone have a link to step by step directions? maybe w/ pics also? And any special tools needed for the install and how much time should someone with 1/2 decent mechanic skill take to do this compared to someone who has very little skill at all? THanks everyone and all advice is welcome as well as suggestions.

I dont know from experience, but i cant see how lt's would make it quieter...Anyway, the only negative things ive heard about the macs are that if you live somewhere cold, they will rust pretty badly. Ive also heard of some quality things but thats not going to stop me from buying the prochamber. There is a rightup on the whole install on www.fnsweet.com Its on a bullitt but that doesnt really matter. Its pretty complete from what i can tell. Someone else said they did their install by it. Good luck, im sure it will sound mean...

P.S. Got any pics of your car, its just sounds beautiful... I love the roush kits on the older stangs...thanks
Got the direct link...here ya go...

I am doing this also this spring, and I will go with the BBK or Hookers. Do a search on MAC, header, and 'oil consumption' and you will find a LOT of people who have hurt their motors using MACs. There are a number of people who have had NO problems, but when dealing with an engine that costs several thousand dollars, I don't want a couple hundred bucks potentially sending me down a path to destruction.

Do the search where? here on stangnet? My buddy has a set of mac longtubes on his 95 transam and they are loud as ****of course he has a pretty built 383...i heard a sound clip on the bbk's and didnt really dig the sound much....would rather keep manifolds than have my car sound like that i think...any other opinions are welcome...still dont know what to get...???
