I believe I saw a test in one of the magazines with all BBK parts... 1 1/2 shorties, 1 5/8 shorties, and 1 5/8 longtubes. IIRC, the longtubes and the 1 5/8 shorties made about the same peak power, but the LTs made about 30 foot pounds of torque more down low.
