Look what the UPS man just brough me! FRPP blower!

Yes, pretty much, and to help relocate the alternator. The blower alone, 360. the blower, blower cams, tune, and all the supporting mods could put me around 380, especially with methanol keeping the charge nice and cool. 380 would be good, i don't want to get into the red zone with the block as far as power goes.

If you can hit 360 with the blower alone, blower cams and supporting mods with a good tune would put you well past 380.

I dunno, from my understanding, this blower alone with the right fuel setup and a stock otherwise car makes 85 RWHP. I'm guessing that all the bolt ons, a good tune, cams, and some other little goodies should put me around 380

On another note, this blower has me thinking hard. Here's what my mind is doing:
If I have a blower, I want blower cams
If I get blower cams, why not ported heads
If I get all that, I'll be pushing the block hard and probably risk blowing it
Why not a $10k VT billet stroker long block then? Now I can use my 9 psi pulley and save on motor assebly labor charges at a shop and make some mental horsepower.
With all that power, I'm gonna blow my tranny, but I can get a T56.
If I'm gonna spend all that, why not trade in for an 03-04 Cobra or Mach?
But you can throw $15k at a Cobra or Mach just as easy....

I am so confused!

and if you do all that your gonna want to buy a REAL blower too..... I would leave on that 9psi pulley since you will probably not even make 350 with it. those blowers are not efficient at all and are big heat soakers. the meth kit will help you out some but don't expect big numbers from that blower.

don't worry about time bombing it either... my stock motor made 431rwhp and would still run like a top had I not just taken it out to replace with a forged unit. Mike's tunes are safe and powerful.. my motor had the blower on it for 12k miles and was as strong as day 1 when I took it out. motor never went below 400rwhp 400tq on the dyno in like 11 pulls.

Is your car the orange one with the black hood and no wing? I was driving next to you on 195 near Fall River while you were on your way to Dez I think, I believe you had a black explorer following you. I was in the grey 04. I saw it again at the shop, and in fact, the guy who works there used it as an example of what the motors can handle. He also said that if I enjoyed the blower, in the future they could upgrade me to a procharger and I could sell this one for what I paid or more, but I really don't want a ton of power, the car is a daily driver. As long as it'll be relatively powerful, and dependable, I'll be happy. My goal has always been no more than 400 RWHP. Anyway, very nice car if it was yours!

HAHAHA... . yea right dude.. try again....

04GT longblock. STOCK everything EXCEPT
Crower Stage 2 blower cams
Comp Valve Springs
6psi pulley on FRPP Roots blower
FRPP shorty headers
O/R H pip
2 chamber flowmasters
90mm Lmaf
Custom Dyno tune

422rwhp/402 rwtq... lasted for 9 months and here's what i got.

Now.. what was that you were saying about not blowing it up with all that?

Like San said. Screaming hairy BS on you making 420rwhp on a 6psi FRPP roots blower. No way. You'd be lucky to get that with 6psi turbo kit. Kenne Bell 6psi doesnt even get near that.

Loads of guys are running 9 psi for ages without issues. Talk to Tim at MPH. Its all about the tune.

yeah that was me and funny you say that about the shop cause everytime my car is there they usually sell a procharger just based off what it has done on my stock motor. the car was still running like a champ before I brought it in for the forged motor after almost 3 years with the blower on the stocker.

power is an addiction. once you get a taste of a PA car you want more. my car was seeing 15-17lbs of boost from my blower and after a while it wasn't enough and felt like a stocker to me... thats why the new motor is going in now. if my motor could handle that without a hiccup 9lb pulley will be nothing to worry about on yours. if you put the 6 on you will probably be disappointed in a very short amount of time.

That's what they said. I already had a 320 RWHP N/A 87 GT that I built and loved to drive, but I always wanted more. My only concern with this blower is the heat, but they're gonna set me up with a staged methanol kit that should do a decent job controlling it, and I'm going to get a heat extractor style hood to just try and keep ambient underhood temps down and help any heatsoak I can. They said they could tune around the 9 psi pulley, and according to them they could put me up around 380. I'm going back Monday to see Mike so he can look the setup over and give me some hard estimates. It's probably going to be like a year before I can actually get all this done, but I want to start saving and prepping, and they seem eager to see what this blower will do.

Here's what we had decided on them doing:
FRPP blower @ 9PSI
Roush fender well CAI
AFM blower cams
Lightning MAF
BBK/Roush 75mm TB
Shorty headers
Mac catted ProChamber
Steeda side exhaust (they weren't loving this, said it can hurt power, but I'm willing to lose a few for this setup, it makes me  )
3.73s
install subframes that will fit side exhaust
install MM strut tower brace
install K member brace
staged/ramped methanol injection
SCT Livewire with custom dynotune
and while they're in there, I'm gonna have some nice looking BBK cam covers added lol...

MM&FF did an install a while back and mislabeled it as an M90 in their article. The blower is in fact an M112 though. Although it displaces the same volume as the '03-'04 Cobra, it’s slightly different. The case for one thing is molded as one piece along with the rest of the manifold and has a different inlet design. This makes porting the inlet and runners next to impossible unless you're willing to completely disassemble the blower in order to do it properly.

I've always liked the FRPP kit. It's simple, stealthy and fairly easy to install compared to other blowers on the market. Sure, it won't make the power of a twin screw, but you're also paying about $1,200 less for the kit. The only reason I went with the Allen instead of it, was because I really liked the Allen design for starters and because I could never get a strait answer from Ford Racing as to their availability at the time.

...and don't expect 360rwhp with the blower alone either. Most guys are only seeing about 300-320 at the wheels with the 6psi pulley. Realistically, you might see 360rwhp.....maybe 380rwhp with all of the supporting mods. I have no explanation for why invertmast was able to see the numbers he has. I've never seen anyone break 400rwhp with this kit, regardless of their supporting mods. That being said, the M112 isn't the "inefficient, heat soaker" some here would have you believe. The modern Roots blower is much more refined that it's previous counterpart and does just fine when run within its efficiency range. It's hands down the most reliable and inexpensive Positive Displacement blower on the market and has been for several years. Listen selectively to the hype you hear about how much "better" other kits are. A lot of them may be able to eek out a few more horsepower up top, but rarely do they perform well, or as “efficiently” under general driving conditions as an Eaton will.

Yeah, and their manifold design also tosses any idea of an intercooler right out the window, which sucks...But I guess it's designed to just bolt on and go, and unmodified it probably does well, but when you start upping the output, that's where some kind of heat reducer would be nice. Even the Cobras that have it stock have an intercooler. I guess the meth does the job, the only downside being you have to replenish it, but adding windshield washer fluid all the time isn't exactly that big of a chore... The reliability is a big plus for me, because of the DD status. I'll be happy if I get into stock 03 cobra power territory. Even with all the mods and such, by the time I'm done, I'll probably still be under the cost of a terminator cobra in this area. I also love the stealthy look, so much more subtle than a vortech hanging off the motor or a big KB on top, and I've never seen one at any meet or show I've gone to. Being unique with my car has always been my thing.

be careful with the BBK covers...read about quite a few of them leaking.. the Breeze automotive covers are nice pieces..more expensive but you get what you pay for in this game. Mike will definately set you up with the right parts.. best in the area bar none!
