Looking at a 2005 Saleen 281?

Hey guys I am going to check out a 2005 Saleen 281 NA. Want to trade in my 2003 GT an have a few questions? I noticed the upper manifold looks like a stock GT manifold and does not say Saleen. Is this normal? The dealer is asking 26,999 is that on the high side? How much should I get him to lower that price? Other than appearance upgrades is that suspension that much better than the GT? Thanks in advance.

There is an active thread on this subject in the Saleen forum. It seems the dealer is trying to rape you at $26k for an '05 NA. The guys on the forum are really helpful (like the folks here) so check out the thread and ask questions.

27k is insane for a 2005, even a Saleen. Sticker price for a brand new 5.0 GT is around 30k here in Charlotte NC, and that's sticker. YOu could have a brand new car, with a warranty, for the same money or less.

I agree with Steve491, You can probably get a good deal on a 12 GT and it'll be what extra $50 $60 a month.
