Here is what the guy said when I asked if I could drive it home
"there's a good chance it could make it 40 miles. I drove it about 20 when I brought it home. The thing with it is, it runs rough and chokes out a lot until its warmed up-due to the fouled up plugs. Once it has warmed up it runs ok, but if it were to choke out at an intersection, or you have to shut it off, it would have a tough time starting again-because once it warms up the plugs get really fouled up."

sound like a dirty MAF, or a messed UP TPS, what do you guys think, I dont want to buy another huge problem,

Its a 1991 vert the two back windows dont roll down, has a 5 lug conversion and has a near fresh coat of green paint
2,250

yeah the more i investigate the more I want to pay 1500 for this car, used to be red now its green and needs paint, all the windows are messed up with both rear window motors busted..

I'd rather pay 3500 for a decent one

ill buy yours for 3k anyday, I just like buying these things I already have 4 of them but 2 are going to the scrap yard, they gave thier lives for project, sexy T

I just want a stock vert that i can drive and park places and not worry about

Bring a can of contact cleaner, some Q-tips, and a screwdiver (and/or tamper-resistant Torx driver) with you when you check out the car. If he's cool with it, try cleaning the MAF wires and see if that helps. Or pull a plug and see if they really are fouled out. Otherwise, get him down on the price, hire a tow truck, haul it home, and play with it at your leisure. It sounds to me like the dude selling it is just making up crap to explain why it runs poorly, without really knowing what he's talking about.
