Hi All,

We are currently looking for a MII with "T" tops. We are looking for a car in good condition (especially the interior).

Any recommendations?

I watched you build the SN65 car in the classic tech thread... nice work. Were you planning upon doing anything special with this MII? Depending upon the color, good interiors can be hard to find. You'll have the most luck looking on e-bay. You can also post at www.mustangii.net. The forum in there is a bit more active than this one. Mustang IIs in good condition are harder to find than older Mustangs I think. They don't attract the money crowd so they are rarely restored to excellent condition.

I followed the SN65 buildup in a couple of places on the web. Great work.

I agree with Dmoody...not much money is being put into MII restoration yet. Of course its tough when some of the major interior parts aren't in reproduction yet. Kind of like trying to restore a '65 Mustang in the late '70's would have been.

So you are looking for someone that restored his MII early while NOS interior parts were still available, or a car that's been garaged the last 25 years.

About every 6 months or so something like this comes up on eBay.

Another place to look is at an MCA National show. There is usually one or two really nice MII's in the concours restoration area. You might try placing an add in the MCA monthly magazine or probably more successfully in Hemmings.

Good Luck!

I know you said you want one with a good interior, but I have a 76 T-top in my garage. The body is straight and has minimal rust. The only problem is getting in touch with the owner, Stang2Man....I don't think he has been on the computer at all on his honeymoon. I'll try to post some pictures if you want, however the car is tucked off in the corner of the garage with no engine, tranny and only partial interior

i have a 1976 mII cobra

v6 4 speed don't run needs stater for sure engine is not sized though only has two small area of rust. with blue interior that only has a rip on the drivers seat.

its got American racing wheels with 10.5 in the back and 7.5 in front.

i got for to mention that the transmission is all so a little difficult to get in reverse. the sequencer is bad i think.

also the back seat is sitting somewhere in piqua in a barn. it now has a speaker box.(needs recovered.

it has louvers on the rear and the side windows.

it would need to be town/trailered to wherever you live.

we also have a spare carb i believe.

I guess it depends what you want to pay.
I was just starting into my resto mod 78 t-top
Have a solid car, used rear spoiler, lacy spoke rims, new carpet, new t-top seals and nice interior. Car is running and driveable 2.8L 4 speed.
I have other projects but this one was next.
BTW nice job on the SN65.
